How to Love Mathematics

Many students struggle with studying mathematics, but if we look closely, we may find it easier than we think!
At Reaya Education Center, we’ve prepared some valuable tips to help you excel and succeed in maths. Here are the tips:

  1. Understanding leads to retention – the reverse is not true.
  2. Speed is important when solving problems – but of course, accuracy matters.
  3. Reading alone won’t help; use a pen and paper when studying math.
  4. Choose the right time to study – avoid studying math when you’re tired, at the end of the day, or right after a subject that requires intense focus. Early morning is usually the best time to study with focus.
  5. Understand the rules and how to apply them correctly, and memorize them by practicing them on different problems. Review them regularly.
  6. Practice problems frequently to deepen your understanding and build confidence. Try solving exercises yourself, including those done by the teacher and those without provided solutions. Then ask the teacher for feedback.
  7. Rely on yourself when solving problems without the teacher’s help, as math requires a lot of self-reliance.
  8. Math is a sequential subject– you won’t understand current lessons without a good grasp of previous ones. Pay attention to this point.
  9. Review basic concepts and study them thoroughly.
  10. You won’t score high without consistent study and regular review of previous material.
  11. Ask your teacher about anything you don’t understand.
  12. Take notes on key points given by the teacher, especially on problem-solving techniques.
  13. Keep a dedicated notebook for gathering all the formulas and notes you learn – it’ll make exam review much easier.
  14. Take care of your health by eating well, staying hydrated, and getting enough sleep.
  15. Think of each problem as a game or puzzle and the formulas as rules to solve it.
  16. In essay-type problems, identify the given information and the required outcome. Then, list the rules needed and begin formulating your solution.
  17. Never believe you can’t understand math; it could just be an issue with your study method or understanding.
